The Art of Design at Satara Melbourne

The Art of Designing continues its collaboration with Satara in Melbourne, bringing together original art, considered interiors and creative connection within a new showroom setting.

Following The Art of Design at Satara Sydney, Gaia Starace and Catherine Whiting bring the next chapter of the collaboration to the Satara Melbourne Showroom in March 2027.

The Melbourne exhibition will present original works by both artists within Satara’s collection of furniture and objects, allowing artwork, material, colour and form to respond to one another within the space.

Rather than experiencing art in isolation, the collaboration explores how artwork changes when it becomes part of an interior and how, in turn, art can influence the atmosphere, identity and emotional experience of a space.

The Melbourne event continues The Art of Designing’s wider exploration of the relationship between art and interiors, while creating a meeting point for artists, designers, brands and the local design community.

The Art of Design at Satara Sydney

The Art of Designing brings art, interiors and creative communities together through exhibitions, live art, events and collaborations with the design industry.

In October 2026, The Art of Designing presents The Art of Design at the Satara Sydney Showroom, an exhibition by Gaia Starace and Catherine Whiting exploring the relationship between original art and the spaces we inhabit.

Set within Satara’s considered furniture and interiors, the exhibition places original artworks in dialogue with material, colour, form and space, reflecting our belief that art and interiors can be experienced as part of one creative environment.

The opening night extends this idea through live painting, bringing the artistic process into the showroom and allowing guests to experience the creation of work as it happens. Bringing together artists, designers, brands and the wider design community, the event creates a space for conversation, exchange and creative connection.

The Art of Design reflects a broader part of The Art of Designing practice: creating exhibitions, art experiences and collaborations that connect art with interiors, people and place.
